Before we get into the other seven letters of my first name, how’d you do with Guramatunhu?

I’m Ru (duh), and I write a lot (double duh). A natural pontificator, I’ve been writing and performing poetry since I was 13 and have loved telling stories and engaging audiences ever since.

After getting a very serious theatre and creative writing degree at Brunel University London, I spent a few years going back and forth between customer service roles and endlessly worrying about what I was doing with my life.

Thankfully, COVID hit, and I got the chance to reset and refocus.

Interning at McCann MK for 6 months introduced me to the limitless, until a budget is involved, world of advertising.

From there, I joined Momentum as their junior copywriter until I left to pursue more learning and enrolled in the One School as part of their inaugural UK cohort, graduating as one of the honour students and won The Talent Business’ Cream 2023 award.

I then went to Amazon as a Data Analyst (which is a lot more creative than it sounds, I promise!) and interned at tiny social media powerhouse SEEN Connects.

I’m currently at Ogilvy UK as a Junior Creative Copywriter for Ogilvy One, previously known as Experience.
